along the bike trail...

i got a bit of road rash (at about mile 9 of 28). yes, that is my right forearm and my right knee. and my blurry rubber ducky who is helping me with the antiseptic. unfortunately, there was nothing dramatic. no diving pelicans, no out of control baby strollers, just a bunch of wind blown sand on some slick concrete, which made me slam and slide about four feet. luckily, i was hidden from view by a bunch of sand dunes so nobody could see my embarrassment or chide me for not wearing a helmet. however, it was all pretty much worth it, as i continued riding, and at about mile 16, i snapped the panorama below somewhere at Will Rogers State Beach near the Pacific Coast Highway.

Manhattan Beach

this image is from underneath the Manhattan Beach pier. the Manhattan Beach that is in California. not the one that is in Brooklyn. although the one on the east coast is just as nice.

sunset

this is what i see from my balcony almost every evening.

along the bike trail...

i saw this at manhattan beach, which was also precisely the halfway point of a 26 mile ride. i sure wish i had more people to ride with. at least, i didn't get any bugs in my teeth.

Beneath the Folds Trailer

visit their site here. i am very much looking forward to watching this documentary.

chrome features

here's a promotional piece by google that came out last month that is a real treat. i haven't played with the browser too much, but i am definitely enamored with this video and their use of analog and rube goldberg machine-esque techniques.

and below is a behind-the-scenes featurette for the above video.
